DESCRIPTION:
A string of strange bank heists has rocked the collective subconscious realm known as Blue City. There is no known motive and in each case nothing seems to have been stolen, but details are always hard to pin down in the irreal world of Blue City. Rumors are circulating in The Company that it's an inside job and rogue mystery agents are to blame. Others whisper rumors that The Girl has something to do with it. The Mythography Omega Department has psychogeographically triangulated the next bank most likely to be hit. With this info, The Company sends in its best mystery agents for a stakeout hoping to put a stop to it or at least figure out who is behind it.

Players will be split between the thieves attempting to rob the bank and the mystery agents on a stake out to stop them. Only one thing is for certain — all plans fail on first contact with the strangeness that is Blue City.

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 5
CHARACTERS PROVIDED: YES
TONE: DARK, SERIOUS

DESCRIPTION:
The year is 1920. The English village of Ebon Eaves is dying. The Great War had robbed the village of its young men, who died in the trenches of Somme and Ypres. Poverty had robbed the village of its young women, who flocked to cities looking for work. Influenza robbed the village of its children, and of its last shreds of hope. The farms are failing with no families to tend them. You are all that is left: the old, the lost, the dying, the ones crippled in body or soul.

Your friend Florence Parsons was the only light in this darkness. Her kindness sustained you. Her optimism was Ebon Eave’s last lifeline. But yesterday, her body was found in her home. The police constable was reluctant to divulge details, but around the village there are whispers that the beloved Mrs. Parsons committed suicide, the unforgivable sin.

How can a woman who seemed so full of life only days before take her own? You, the friends of Mrs. Parsons, are determined to shed light on her mysterious death. You may not be good for much anymore, but you will do your friend this one final service.

CHARACTERS PROVIDED: YES
TONE: GRITTY, FAST, INTENSE

DESCRIPTION:
The world is Lovecraftian. A thin and fragile veneer of ‘normality’ covers a reality that is so terrifying that exposure to it is harmful. Monsters are real and godlike beings are more likely to be horrifying than beatific. Humanity is protected by a frail delusion of innocence, which is both sword and shield. You are one of the few people who know and fight the terror.  You protect innocence at any cost. If you don’t, people suffer... or worse: they believe. When more people believe, the darkness gets stronger.

You are a specialist with Paranormal Tactical (P-Tak to the innocent). 48 hours ago a 14 year old girl was kidnapped. Your job - find her and bring her home. Alive.

SANITARIUM

11AM - 5PM

GAME SYSTEM: AVATR
GENRE:SCARY
GM: MATTHEW GRAU
VARIATIONS: N/A
POWER LEVEL: ORDINARY PEOPLE
NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 5
CHARACTERS PROVIDED: YES

DESCRIPTION:
In this game, you'll take on the role of everyday people who have voluntarily committed themselves to a psychiatric care facility. They suffer from realistic disorders, the kind which can be managed with care and medication, such as self-harming, eating disorders, depression, panic attacks, and bipolar disorder. Things had gotten too difficult at work or home, and you realized you needed some short-term in-patient help.

The opportunity was presented to move to a newly constructed special facility, and it was a step up from your current hospitals. It looks fancy from the outside, but inside is a special breed of hell.

You'll need to keep secrets, out others, and keep on your toes to survive. Characters are allies of convenience, so the people you're with may not really be friends, and may hold secrets which shock you. Characters will die, but there are opportunities for players who have perished to continue to actively partipate. Will you choose your death or will it be chosen for you? Will you be the one who survives to see it through?

There will be prep before the game, in which you'll have to read your character information and be present to it for the game. This won't be a problem with this group.

Given the subject matter, there may be a variety of triggers or potentials for upset. For example, you may have watched someone suffer from cutting or an eating disorder, and that pain is very real, even if treated with respect. If you have concerns, but are interested in playing, please contact me so we can make sure the game doesn't include any for you. We will be playing with X-cards, just in case.

Wear comfortable clothing, because you'll be moving around. If you have any physical restrictions to mobility, please let me know ahead of time so I can accommodate them.

COVID PROTOCOLS:
Since I was at Gen Con, wherein 6 of 8 people in my room came down with Covid (fortunately, I was not one of them), I'd prefer if we followed some best practices regarding minimizing potential transmission. If you've been sick within a week of the convention, please take a rapid test to make sure you're not bringing an unexpected guest with you.

POWER LEVEL: NORMAL 20-SOMETHINGS
NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 5
CHARACTERS PROVIDED: YES
TONE: WEIRD
TAGS: EVERYPERSON, FOUND FOOTAGE, WEIRD HORROR

DESCRIPTION:
You're a group of 20-somethings out to make your very own found footage film, Faces in the Water. The premise revolves around the legends of Pyramid Lake, NV, where locals say at least one fisherman disappears without a trace each year, victims of the ghostly beings known as Water Babies. You've gotten permission to film from the Paiute tribe and will be staying in the nearby town of Nixon, because you've seen enough found footage movies to know that camping on these things never goes well. Nixon has a population of about 400 and is the seat of tribal government of the Paiute Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation and home to the tribe's Museum and Visitor Center.

You've got some cameras, a mess of hard drive space, plenty of flashlights, a solar generator, and a safe place to store your gear. Let's go make a scary movie on a shoe-string budget!

There will be a few personal items you'll be asked to bring, including a warm jacket and dark sunglasses. Those who register will be given a complete list as we get closer to the event.

VARIATIONS: N/A
POWER LEVEL: N/A
NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 5
CHARACTERS PROVIDED: YES, but Players will select from 3 roles (classes) chosen out of 30 for their Dream-half character
TONE: Surreal, Symbolic fantasy
TAGS: Inspired by authors Lord Dunsany, H.P. Lovecraft, Michael Ende, Kij Johnson, and world traveler Marco Polo

DESCRIPTION:
Evil threatens a wondrous and peaceful city without age or death.

ABOUT DREAMLAND:
There is another world beyond our perception, a world which few people know. Past time and space is the Dreamlands, an infinite place of wonder and terror, formed from dreams and hopes of humanity.

The game system features a unique mechanic of using Words randomly drawn from a pool while talking in character* to add to a d6 against challenges. But use too many words and you may break the Pillars of Dreamland! The scenario is more "fluffy" (mood, atmosphere, roleplay, story) than "crunchy" (tactics, game mechanics, combat, dice rolling). Characters may die, but it's only a dream..right?

The scenario may not have a "win", but the story will conclude. No familiarity with H.P. Lovecraft or Lord Dunsany needed, nor should you expect their creations in the scenario. But their dreamy style is redolent throughout the game.

* No oratory skill needed, but basic English language comprehension is helpful.

Please do not play if you feel sick or think you might be infected. Please be vaccinated, but I will not check cards. DM is fully vaxxed/boosted. I wil bring masks and antigen tests for my players if they request one.
